First dates are the best. Ask the hot girl out to dinner, get to know her, enjoy her company, and at the end of the date hopefully get lucky and make plans for a second date. Oh and of course, for the couple that really hits it off, get a goodnight kiss, and perhaps for the real lucky guys, close the deal.

However, first dates do not always happen so smoothly. Do you find yourself waiting by the phone for this hottie to call you back when you try making plans after the first date? Or perhaps you get a hold of this chick after the first date, and she just always happens to be “busy”? Well I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you are not getting a second chance buddy. One date happened to be enough for her to decide, she’s just not that into you. But where could you possibly have gone wrong? There are numerous things you could have done to rub her the wrong way, but here are 10 of the most popular reasons she didn’t call you back after the first date.

10. Too many stories

Guys that sit there and tell story after story about themselves and their past, are flat-out annoying.

9. Watching porn when your date arrives to your house

I have seen this first hand, and it’s sick guys! I mean let’s get serious; that is not going to put any girl in the mood on a first date. She is not going to think you’re sexy; she is going to think you’re a sick freak.

8. Poor location decisions

Chances are when you mentioned dinner she did not think you were taking her to Wendy’s, McDonalds, Panda Express, Subway, or anything equally as lame.

7. Details of loosing your virginity

As much as this may seem like a very special moment to you, and perhaps you think by mentioning it, this girl is going to think you’re really sweet and caring; you are wrong! Details of your past sex life is not something that should be shared on a first date, much less, ever!

6. Trying to be a comedian

Girls enjoy the funny. What we do not enjoy is someone that tells way too many jokes. We want you to be funny, but we are actually on a date, not at a comedy club audition. News flash- we know you aren’t being yourself, because quite frankly, no one is that funny all of the time.

5. Baggage

As much as it sucks to admit, sometimes too much baggage (i.e. kids, ex-wife, being in prison, recovering addict) is too much for some women to handle. Everyone has a past; it’s just that some women do not want to deal with yours.

4. Money talk

Women understand that you are trying to impress them, but if all you can talk about is how much money you have, and how many possessions are yours to play with, the only girl that is going on a second date with you is a gold digger! Talking money just makes you sound like a huge douche bag.

3. No connection

It seems so simple, but most of us, women and men alike, have the hardest time accepting this. She just felt like after a whole night of getting to know you, there simply was not enough spark between you to enforce a second date.

2. You tell her, “I’m Falling For You.”

WHOA! Slow down Mr. Lover. This is scary. Period! There is no way you can know someone well enough after the first date to make such a powerful statement. So don’t.

1. The Ex

There should never be talk about your ex on a first date, even if it is to prove you are the greatest guy in the world and she still screwed you over. Regardless of what happened, when it happened, or why it happened- all this baggage needs to stay at home. And I repeat, NEVER TALK ABOUT THE EX! She won’t want to see you again because it’s either way too much information then she wanted to know about you on a first date, or she’ll assume you aren’t over your ex. Either way, you can guarantee there will be no second date in your future.

So guys, remember these 10 simple rules when you take a girl out; otherwise every date might be a first with no promise of a second!
