Top 5 Sports Cities
Here we have listed the top 5 cities that have consistent and loyal fan base for their professional sports teams. We are strictly taking into account the overall performance of the four major sports in the United States in the past decade.
Boston
With 3 Super Bowls, 2 World Series, and NBA Championship in the last decade alone, it is pretty clear who has been dominating the scoreboards. With the Patriots and Red Sox being near the top of their game for almost a decade and the reemergence of the Celtics and Bruins, the loyal Boston faithful will have plenty to cheer about and celebrate for years to come. Across all major sports, they currently don’t have any major weaknesses and are a threat to capture titles across the board.

New York
Any city that boasts two professional baseball and football teams has to rank right near the top. Although by some standards the success of the Yankees, love them or hate them, this decade has been disappointing; though they are still one of the most talked about teams across the country. The Giants have regained their status with the recent upset over the Patriots in the Super Bowl. As long as the two red-headed step children, the Jets and Mets, are constantly trying to gain the respect of their closest rivals, there will be something to talk about in this town. Their only flaw is the Knicks, which I just wasted a breath by even mentioning them in this article.

Pittsburgh
Winning one professional championship in any sport is a reason to celebrate, but hoisting two championship trophies in the span of twelve months is remarkable. The Steelers are challenging the Patriots for the football team of the decade and they already have one of the largest and most loyal fan bases across the country. With Sid the Kid and Mario Lemieux driving the Penguins Zamboni and their recent success as Stanley Cup champions, Pittsburgh fans will have plenty of reasons to drink beer and waive their towels around. The only downside to sports in this city is the Pirates, who despite having a fantastic stadium are farming a minor league baseball team with their 17th consecutive losing season.

Chicago
This is the sports town capital of the Midwest. The Chicago Cubs have one of the largest followings in baseball, even though the have not one a World Series in over 100 years and constantly shatter their fans dreams by mid July. The White Sox have won the only championship for the city this decade but have little respect within their own city. The Bulls, Bears, and Blackhawks are all teams on the rise but just can’t seem to get over the hump. The Chicago faithful are loyal across the board, but are still left with the lingering thoughts and images of what could have been if number 23 didn’t decide to walk away from the game in his prime.

Los Angeles
The city that once had “Show Time” has enough to smile about besides the sunny weather. The Lakers have won 4 championships this decade and have been to the Finals two more times and show no signs of slowing down, having the best closer in the game still in his prime. Although, they don’t have a NFL franchise, the USC Trojans are treated like rock stars and are probably more recognizable than a handful or two of professional athletes across all 4 major sports in the city. The Dodgers and Angels have both had recent success on the diamond, with the Angels winning a World Series in 2002. Watching a Clippers or Kings game is just like going to a bad movie where your girlfriend won’t let you leave early; you are forced to suffer through it and it feels like a punishment.
