Ask A Hot Chick: The Smelly Vagina

The last week or so I noticed my girlfriend’s cooter stinks. It seems to be getting worse too. I know she showers because we live together and she’s never had a stinky one before. How can I tell her that her cooter reeks?

Your girlfriend is nasty. No, seriously a stinker coot happens. Pussies can be beautiful, but they can also be extremely grotesque. How else do you think feminine care products became a multi-million dollar business? There are several things that could be making your girlfriend’s vagina stink including vaginitis, which is what medical experts call the various causes of infection or inflammation of the vagina. Common causes of vaginitis are bacterial vaginosis, yeast infection, the sexually transmitted disease trichomoniasis and forgetting to remove a tampon.
Are you sure you want to read on? I am about to tell you stuff about the vagina that you probably wished you never knew…
Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of vaginitis. It is caused by the levels of different bacteria normally found in the vagina. A change in the bacteria in the vagina can be caused by sexual activity, frequent douching, extreme change in diet or hormonal changes. When a woman gets a new sexual partner or has multiple sex partners, her vagina “adapts” to the new partner. When she “adapts,” her body creates different levels of good and bad bacteria and sometimes it causes an overgrowth of the bad bacteria. Too much bad bacteria can create a foul odor.
The bacteria in the vagina also plays a role in causing yeast infections. When the bacteria in her body can’t keep the normal growing of fungi under control, it can cause a yeast infection. Yeast is a fungi and it doesn’t smell nice. There are many causes of yeast infections including drinking alcohol excessively, diabetes, use of antibiotics, hormonal changes, wearing tight underwear (restricting panties increase temperature and moisture), use of douche or feminine hygiene sprays and scratches in the vagina (scratches are caused by tampon use or use of sexual devices).
Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease that is an infection of the urinary and genital tracts. It causes a frothy vaginal discharge that could release a foul smell. The smell is most noticeable during or after intercourse when she discharges most.
Finally, leaving a tampon in could cause a serious stench in the vagina. Believe it or not, forgetting about a tampon happens frequently. Leaving a tampon in could cause more than just a nasty stench though, a tampon that is left in the vagina for a long period of time creates a breeding ground for bad bacteria to grow. A tampon left in too long could also cause toxic shock syndrome, which can be fatal.
If your girlfriend hasn’t noticed the smell, you need to tell her about your findings. She needs to consult a healthcare professional before it causes some serious health problems. Plus, a stinky cooter is just nasty.
