Good Christmas Gift Ideas for Your Girlfriend

Figuring out what to buy your woman for the holidays can be a real pain in the ass. You are worried she will think you are cheap if you don’t spend a lot or it could be uncomfortable if you spend too much. Women are hard to buy for, especially if you haven’t been dating very long and you don’t know a lot about her. Or, on the contrary if you’ve been dating a long time and you’ve run out of ideas. Below are several gift ideas for her based on the amount of time you two have been dating.

1 Month or Less

So you’ve just met and now you are forced to show her how you feel with a gift. Here are a few ideas:

Red and white rose bouquet – add a bottle of wine, she’ll love it.

A book by her favorite author – write a corny message to her on the inside of the book.

Snuggie – women get cold easily and who wouldn’t love a blanket that has sleeves!?

Matching hat, gloves and scarf set – keep her warm and looking good.

3 Months

Gift certificate to the spa for a massage, manicure and/or pedicure – every woman loves a little R ‘n R.

Her favorite perfume – buying her the perfume she loves most shows her you pay attention.

Picture frame (digital frame if you have several pictures of the two of you) – make sure to include a picture of you two that you know she thinks she looks good in. If she’s posted that picture on Facebook, then she probably likes it.

6 Months

Pashmina Scarf – choose her favorite color.

Tickets to a play, musical or concert – pick the one she would want to see, not the one you want to go to.

Lingerie – you are still in the honeymoon stage of the relationship so take advantage.

Jewelry box – make her think she needs a place to store all the jewelry you plan to buy her in the future.

Wallet – a woman’s purse is like a black hole, help her keep organized with a new wallet.

1 Year

Necklace, bracelet or earrings – it’s still early so no need for diamonds just yet.

Watch – include a cheesy note on how you adore spending time with her.

Designer Handbag – choose a designer that she has already bought items from.

iPod – add some of her favorite songs to it before you give it to her.

2 Years

Something that comes in a Tiffany’s box – take a look at the style of jewelry she wears most often and purchase something similar. Remember, to her it isn’t about how much you spent at Tiffany’s, it’s the fact that you went to Tiffany’s for her.

Romantic weekend – the trip doesn’t have to be to a far away destination. You can plan a romantic weekend in almost any city. Make spa and dinner reservations ahead of time.

Luggage - can’t afford a weekend away? Make her think you plan to take her away some time in the future with a new luggage set.

Navigation system – this way she won’t call you ever time she is lost. You may need to spend some time teaching her how to use it though!

Painting – find a style and colors that match the décor in her place.

3 Years

Puppy or kitten – after 3 years of dating. her maternal instincts will really be kicking in. She is going to be wanting more and a dog or a cat is an easy way to fulfill those maternal instincts and buy you some time.

Flat Screen TV – women aren’t into electronics like men are so most likely she won’t go out and buy herself a new tv, but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t love to have one.

Diamonds – the time has come to invest in some “bling” for her. Diamond stud earrings are your safest bet, but if you are ready for that proposal it will make this her most memorable Christmas.

Kindle – if your girl is an avid reader, this would be a perfect gift. Download a book by her favorite author before giving it to her.
